… and it was a treat by Irene (thanks Piak!)… went to the 24-hour A&W outlet at PJ State, the one beside Padang Timur/Amcorp Mall/Taman Jaya Putra LRT station…

That place was packed! Even the queue for ordering is quite long… soon it reached our turn, I had a coney dog with cheese (yum!) and a large rootbeer float, Irene had a regular rootbeer and the curly fries… it came up to RM 10.98… when I paid the cashier with Irene’s RM 100 note, the following conversation happened:

Irene (to me): I think I got coins…

Me: Aiyah, no need lar, it’s RM 10.98, 2 sen in return also you rather dig 98 sen out issit?

Then the cashier punched in RM 100.00 as the paid amount, I realise that it’s gonna return RM 89.02, so I thought I’d give her RM 1.00 to get RM 90.02 in return…

Me: Eh miss, I’ll give you 1 ringgit instead…

Cashier: Nevermind ler, I already punch in (the cash register)

Me: What on earth does that gotta do with the punching in already?

Cashier: Sorry sir, but I already punch…

Me: ….. speechless… (looks at Irene)

Irene: (same puzzled and annoyed look - received RM 89.02, that’s 9 pieces of RM 1 denominations…)

Me (to Irene): I’m so gonna blog about this! Gimme the receipt later… smiley

There you have it… what the fuck is wrong with that cashier? Doesn’t she know how to count? And since when the cash register will (at the end of her shift) tally out how many pieces of each denominations is supposed to be in the cash till?

Both me and Irene was really puzzled and annoyed by that cashier… geez…
