Race Day…
by auyongtc
The Petronas Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix will commence in less than 1/2 hours time… and it seems that dark clouds are starting to gather in the small academic town I’m in, Nilai… which is only 15 mins away from the track…. will it be a hot scorching start to the race and greeted with a torrential downpour in the later part? Only time will tell…
Earlier, loud fighter jet engines was roaring the skies in my neighbourhood, bet for those ignorant and uninformed people around here would’ve thought they’re preparing for war… nope, they’re just flying-by to the F1 track to show off some stunts as part of the programme…
Oh did I mention that I’ll be going for paintball @ Bukit Tinggi Resort right after my final exams this semester? Anyone wanna follow?

Ferrari’s @$$ got kicked!
by auyongtc
Hmm, 1/2 my wish came true - Ferrari’s domination on Saturday qualifying is over with the new qualifying powerhouse - Renault team… it was clearly a low-fuel gamble by the Renaults with Alonso grabbing pole position and teammate Trulli beside him for race day tomorrow.
Both the Ferrari drivers, Schumi and Rubens got kicked to 3rd and 4th position respectively and DC was 5th, Heidfield 6th while Kimi 7th… Poor Williams, Monty in 8th while Ralf in 17th!
It’ll be interesting to see how the race begin as the Renault’s team got one of the best Launch Control system… but looking at the Saturday qualifying - it’s no longer interesting or any suspense… it’s like everyone just take turn come out and show off 1 flying lap… no more rush of last 10 minutes to score a better time than the rivals… no more frantic engineer/mechanic work in the pit garage in the last minutes… sigh… guess it’s only worth watching on race day
Nevertheless, I’m still happy that Ferrari’s not starting the race tomorrow in the front row!

My pug…
by auyongtc
Gosh… not going back to my KL home this weekend… starting to miss my pugsley already… her name’s Gigi and I’ve attached a pic of her below….
F1 qualifying is starting in about an hour’s time - can’t wait to see DC or Kimi kicks Schumi’s @$$… if that’s gonna come true - but I still think that Ferrari’s got the edge in qualifying - but McLaren and Williams are closing in to them in terms of race day performance - we shall see…

F1 weekend…
by auyongtc
Really looking forward to the coming race weekend - Malaysian F1 GP…
My godfather was telling me that he’s got some tix to the race and wanted to take me along - alas, having to rush my project due for presentation next week… so I had to turn him down (joking along the lines of going with him for Monaco GP in the future!
)
Speaking of the project - one of my group member came up to me yesterday and asked if I could burn him a copy of the project… I was like what the fuck???!!! He didn’t bother helping to do the project, he didn’t bother offering to help or finding out the the progress… he didn’t even bothered to attend the lab classes in which we had to discuss the project and show the progress to the lecturer… really feel like turning him in red-handed to the lecturer… that’ll teach him to value the project! What are your comments about this?

It was raining heavily earlier today - with me being in Nilai - very near to the Sepang F1 track indeed… it seems with the war started today, it really clouded the Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix build-up to the race weekend…
On the F1 GP, guess tomorrow morning the 3 teams (Minardi and another 2 teams - can’t remember right now) that opted for free testing early in the morning will get to experience some damp weather/track condition… Shall report in more about F1 after the Friday qualifying… ET (my house/classmate, who’s a Ferrari fan) was wondering over lunch today whether Michael Schumacher would express his views over the war that began today - the last time he expressed his views on this kinda matters was during the Sept 11 attacks - in which he refused to compete on the race weekend.. so I was telling ET, damn nice if he were not to compete this weekend - more points for West McLaren Mercedes team and the others…
Back to the world - the Iraqi retaliated and even poorly aimed some Scud missiles to an US base in Kuwait… having such low skills in launching missiles - I really wonder if they could have really hidden or even knew how to operate some weapons of mass destruction
Oh yeah, and the stock markets around the world mostly gone up because of this war… I guess it’s the right time to start cashing in on the stock market - how about Petronas? After all, petrol price will definitely go up in coming weeks/months and even long after the war is over, petrol price will never go down in this country anymore…
I should start a wish-list, anyone wanna buy me some shares in Petronas?

the inevitable…
by auyongtc
Yeap, talking about the war here… the war has begun!
Bet all the TV in restaurants, mamak stalls, even offices are tuned into CNN (or another news channel) for the latest updates on the war… still remember last time during the Sept 11 attack, I was still working in ASTRO and during that period, all the TVs in cafeteria and every office floors (yeah, there’s a TV set in every corner of the office area - nice eh?) are glued to CNN channel… bet it’s the same situation there now
Speaking about the war… I still remember during the last US presidential election times… I said that I can predict a war or at least tension with Iraq would rebuild IF George W. Bush were to be president - gosh how true of that…. That time (and now still believe), that the current president is merely following his dad’s footsteps in screwing Iraq… still believe that he’s just a puppet to all his dad’s intentions…
Had Al Gore been president, prolly there be no war with Iraq, but lotsa things against us Asians definitely!

What a start….
by auyongtc
Woke up early this morning - went to the lab class and checked the footie scores… yeah, didn’t bother to wake up and watch that match… Man Utd lost - as expected, since they fielded mostly youngsters for that match - they’ve already qualified as champions in the Group of Champions League, so it was okay…
Then started to check my emails, to my horror, was given tons of warning about some Linux kernel vulnerabilities that might affect my server, but managed to get it fixed up (thanks Paul!) by noon…
The presentation was okay - quite boring actually…
so that was it for the time being…
Got another class to attend later, but since lecturer’s got a huge toothache, I bet it’ll be over real quick - then I’ll be off to PJ to pickup some stuff and then get back my Aztech 56k modem…

Traffic Jams…
by auyongtc
Got down to the Klang Valley and guess what I was greeted with? Traffic jams all over….!
Guess that’s one big thing I never miss about the big city!
Currently blogging in from the Inti College Subang Jaya campus, on Sion’s lappie… he’s gone out for burger with a girl (from his class I assume)…. hmmm…
It began raining heavily just as I stepped into the campus area (what a far cry in terms of facilities compared to the main campus in Nilai!) so doubt I’ll be driving back to Nilai just yet..
Drat! Got a test tomorrow on HCI - Human Computer Interaction - why on earth they include that in our syllabus, haven’t got any idea…! Bet anyone of you willing to sit thru the lecture can fall asleep in record time!

m back!
by auyongtc
Got the presentation slides done up and went out for tea… while bitchin’ to my housemate about my life… sigh! Doubt anyone of you reading this would want me to start bitchin’ to you about my life…
Anyway, gotta wake up early tomorrow morning, formal wear and then lug the laptop (thanks Jessica!) to college for the presentation…
So I’m wondering here… should I wake up at 3.30am to watch Deportivo La Coruna vs Manchester United on TV1? Hmm… only time will tell…

I’ve always wanted to have my own blog and was too lazy to go about doing it… but hey, finally I have one up right here… it’s plain and simple… and other sections should be coming soon… please bear with me on that… can’t be doing too much now - even the calendar that supposed to appear on the right of this post isn’t ready yet…
Can’t be blogging much right now, gonna meet up with some classmates in 15 mins time to rush presentation materials for tomorrow… Till then…
