I was just thinking - perhaps I should have a weekly column here talking about Formula 1… a separate category of articles within this blog… it shall be called F1 Pit Buzz

It shall be my point-of-view of the entire F1 progress (on or off track) with discussion about the weekly gossips and news… should be interesting (I hope…)

Anyway, this reminds me, that I should go out and get Murray Walker’s book - titled Unless I’m Very Much Mistaken… it takes about his life before commentating F1 and his 50 years in the commentary box… should be interesting… smiley

Sigh…

The skies at the track did clear up, but a different kind of cloud set onto Kimi Raikkonen - his engine blew 1/2 way into the race while he was leading - he had a superb race until the inevitable happened… oh well, shit happens smiley

And in the last 2 laps of the race, DC went off trying too hard to overtake the struggling Renault of Fernando Alonso… haih…

Nevertheless, kudos to the Williams 1-2 finish, especially to Montoya for his brave overtaking move on Michael Schumacher. Before any of you start criticizing Monty’s move on Schumi, I’d like to stress that what Monty did was a valid move - nothing illegal about that…

But the same can’t be said about Schumi smiley who spun from the incident into gravel trap, unable to pull himself out but managed to keep his engine on… and the kiasu in him kept waving for race marshalls to help push him back to racing… what he did is highly questionable… not entirely because Kimi was out of the race, but rather in my opinion what Schumi did is questionable - at least a 10-sec penalty perhaps… oh well, I’ll try talking some sense to Charlie Whitting about his handling of this matter… Ferrari greased his and the entire FIA rulemakers’ palms issit? smiley

Muahahaha, Kimi Raikkonen just kicked both Schumi’s butt in the European F1 Grand Prix Qualifying 2! Woohoo! smiley

My heart sank when Kimi was a fraction off Michael’s time in the 2nd intermediate, but he managed to pull himself together and beat Michael’s time in the end!

Contrary to Nurburgring’s dark clouds, it seems the skies is cleared up for Kimi to regain his championship lead this weekend… watch out! smiley

Since I got some time here, here’s this week’s instalment of fridayfive - courtesy of http://www.fridayfive.org/

Jun 27, 2003

Answer the following five questions in your weblog or journal.

1. How are you planning to spend the summer [winter]?

Well let’s see, I’ve got a short semester break coming up in mid August for about 2 weeks, and then a longer break (up to 3 months) in October or so… am planning a short trip to Langkawi perhaps or even to Singapore - tho the Great Singapore Sale will be over by then… oh well! Let’s see how it goes for me… smiley
Besides a much deserved trip, I should be busy with a few things I have in plan to do… will disclose more when the time is right… smiley

2. What was your first summer job?

Hmm, never really had a job until I finished high school, in which I took up an offer to be an IT intern at a local small IT college, which my friend’s dad own… learned quite a lot (about the good and the bad stuff anyway) and then moved on to my 2nd, then 3rd, then finally ended up in ASTRO doing IT auditing before falling back to pursuing my tertiary education in full-time… sorry to dissapoint, but nope, no serving coffee or McDonald’s or even selling lemonade (more like burger or pisang goreng smiley ) in the neighbourhood… smiley

3. If you could go anywhere this summer [winter], where would you go?

AUSTRALIA! Oh wait… most my buddies and Tse Wei (my godsister) will be back so no point going there… hmm, UK? Perhaps… can go visit my fifth uncle’s who’s doing his PhD (permanent head damage) or maybe go visit around Germany as well… anyone gonna sponsor me? smiley

4. What was your worst vacation ever?

That has to be for sure my trip to Penang last December… not so much of the vacation sucked, but rather what happened after the vacation… don’t bother asking me what… smiley

5. What was your best vacation ever?

Hmm.. this is a tough one… don’t quite travel by myself… but is my business trip considered a vacation? To me I think it does… after all, I flew to Singapore for free (first time going alone and it was like after 15 years since I last visited Spore) and got free accomodation at 4-star hotel, got daily allowance summore… met a whole bunch of nice people at the office HQ in Spore and quite nice… I guess that has to be it! smiley

My Life Stories27 Jun 2003 4:06 am

Finally managed to rush one of my assignment out by noon today… heckuva rush when it comes to binding the assignment at the photocopy shop in college…

Anyway, weekend’s approaching… gonna go home this weekend yay! And catch the European F1 GP as well, suppose it’s a Pizza & Formula One Sunday for me… smiley

And hopefully, Paul can help me get up the new feature for this website that I’ve been planning… stay tuned! smiley

Well, I suppose most of you have followed the story on the rape and murder of Canny Ong in the papers lately (if not, read it here)…

The body dumpsite and the place she was raped and murdered is quite near my house in KL and I travel on that stretch of road almost every day when I’m in KL… eek!

What disturbed me the most is how the 2 police officers who first discovered the suspect and the victim in their Proton Tiara in Kelana Jaya… what happened was a normal routine patrol by the 2 officers, saw the car, and approached them for identifications… the suspect guy panicked and just gave them both Canny and his identity card (IC) to the officers and sped off… quoted from the news in today’s The Star (link above):

At about midnight, two policemen conducting special rounds on a motorcycle spotted the Proton Tiara.

They asked the driver for his identity card.

Asked why police did not detain the driver at the time, SAC Abu Bakar replied:

“The detectives approached the car and asked the driver what he was doing before asking him to produce his identity card.

“The man handed over his and Canny’s identity cards.”

He said the driver sped off as one of the detectives was jotting down the details.

SAC Abu Bakar said the police were unaware of the abduction in Bangsar – Canny’s family were then in the midst of lodging a report with the Brickfields police.

The two detectives went back to the Kelana Jaya station to lodge a report and handed over the two identity cards to their superiors.

About 90 mins after that happened, Canny was raped and murdered in the construction area around Old Klang Road near Taman Dato Harun…

In my opinion, the police could be a bit more competent in this matter… rather than solving murder cases, Canny could’ve been saved… Merely reporting about the “IC” incident back at the station is not enough… cmon, think about it, some idiot gave you 2 ICs and then sped off… definitely something smells fishy right? Who in the sane mind would leave the IC to the police and speed off?

How come they don’t radio to HQ and maybe find out what the hell is going on with that car? Aren’t they observant enough to notice the car plate number?

If only they’ve acted upon the incident earlier, I’d say there’s a high chance that Canny can be saved… sigh… what’s your comment on this?

Ahem… there’s gonna be a few changes to this website… it’s no longer gonna be my personal website. No no no… don’t get me wrong, no one paid me millions of dollars to buy this domain name from me… heck, don’t think it’s worth a single cent anyway smiley

… as I was saying… my personal website/blog will be a subset of the upcoming TheUseless.com website… why the change you ask? Well, in reaching out to some of my friends who wanted an avenue to blog, TheUseless.com will become a blog network for my friends (if you’re not my friend, beg real hard and maybe I’ll let you have a blog site here).

Paul Tan, my fave bloatware programming ghey llama will help me make this new idea a reality… as soon as he reinstalls Winblows on his PeeSee as Bill Gates just decided to fux0r with his Winblows registry settings… thanks Paul! smiley

Okay, back to my idea… after the transition, my personal site and blog will reside in http://auyongtc.theuseless.com/ (not yet active…) and my friends will be able to have their own blog site at http://{your name or nick here}.theuseless.com/ and they are free to express themselves (except thrasing me, that’s the last thing they would wanna do anyway, coz I can pull the plug on their site smiley muahahaha!)…

The main site will be like a portal-like site listing latest entries by the bloggers in this network… nice eh? Probably even a forum too! smiley

Okay okay… before you get me confused to what I’m doing is like ripping off Project Petaling Street idea by fellow Malaysian bloggers… no no no… what I’m doing is offering blogging place to my friends and just a centralised site… I still encourage all of you fellow Malaysian bloggers to be part of Project Petaling Street… helluva good idea anyway…

So with that said… be prepared for some new faces in the blogging community… and any of you interested to have a blog site with us, do leave me a mail at the usual address…. okie? smiley
