just looked out the window…
Kids cycling and running around with their friends… fathers washing their cars… what a nice neighbourhood i live in
Now, if only they would wash my car… tee hee!

I had a Java test last Friday… the question paper leaked the day before, thanks to one of the classmates, who got it from another course… my lecturer was too lazy to prepare different question papers for different classes… hehehe
Then I spent the whole of Thursday night and Friday morning trying to come up solutions for the test - it’s entirely coding-based, no theory questions… Paul Tan did help me brainstorm the solutions… but poor bugger, came up with coding so bloated, he could work with Microsoft any day with his bloatware coding competency…
And my coding was distributed to most classmates who were aware of the questions… nice eh?
Now if only this can be repeated for Test 2… muahahahahahahaha!
On Friday night, went down to Subang for dinner and then some pool before Finding Nemo! Helluva hilarious movie, I must say… tho a bit too heavy on the Aussie accent..
Weekend stayed back in Timbuktu Nilai hoping to get some assignment work done… haven’t been really productive… gonna rely on my last minute effort again I suppose…
Life here pretty boring, that’s why I haven’t been blogging around much… tho it’s nice to see that there’s quite an active group of local bloggers now lepaking at Kotaraya Group - a discussion group started by Terrence, the famous TV Smith dua sen blogger who got famous with his Uncle Ho parodies and was recently interviewed in In.Tech of The Star…
If you’re a local blogger, do join in the group as they occasionally organise gatherings
I just reached home a while ago… after class, decided to join my classmates for a debate in college… ended up being a reserve in one of the team and actually participated in the semi-finals… it’s one of those impromptu/secret topic debate that’s held in conjunction with the college’s English Week…
Lost in the semi-finals… oh well, that’s quite okay… tho the experience was fun, right Chee?
Quite a nice ending to the day, of coz if we won then it would be a better ending… but i’m not complaining… gonna get a cert for it anyway…
I haven’t been posting about the Canadian F1 GP qualifying simply because I was busy in the weekends…
not because of McLaren’s poor performance during the both qualifying sessions and the race itself… better to state the fact b4 some pathetic Ferrari fan come bombard me saying I didn’t dare to post the results here coz McLaren didn’t do well….
So it was unlucky for Kimi and DC, both having quite a good race strategy last night…. Kimi started from the pits and opted for a one-stopper… alas, his Michelin tyre punctured and had to pit earlier than expected… but still managed to finish 6th…. DC was having a good race until he lost transmission and had to abort the race…
It was a good win for Michael who desperately needed to overtake Kimi in the World Championship… while Ralf & Monty put up a good fight being 2nd and 3rd on the podium…
Haven’t been posting lately… dunno why also… maybe it’s bcoz nothing much happening lately…
Studies have been fine, except for Maths… struggling again with Maths… haih, i know i sucked at maths… luckily this is the last paper i’ll ever have to do with maths… hope i pass yea?
Anyway, was trying to test out new CMS system for another personal project of mine and have been getting obstacles and obstacles ever since… trying out OpenCMS currently…
And heard that there’s a blogger’s gathering at Bangsar tonight as well… check it out here.. too bad i won’t be able to make it…
And I’m leaving for my home in KL after class later..! Yay!
Came back this evening after a short Java class…
My Java lecturer, Mr Mohan is a guy from India, I think older than my dad and besides knowing most (if not all) programming languages available (he started computing quite late in his life), he’s a Karate-do expert as well… he’s quite tall, big sized, with a very visible spare tire.
I think he’s really good as a programming language lecturer, as he’s quite a perfectionist… once he told us that his son in India got like low 900s out of 1000 (or so) for a general exam in India and he says he’s dissapointed with his son’s achievements (WTF???!! If he’s my dad, I’m dead by now!
)
He’s good in teaching me Java, hehe, with me being the brightest kid in his class summore
But he speaks in a funny accent, pronouncing n as yen and m as yem… .damn hard to distinguish which is which!
Anyway, Mohan aside, came back and went to visit my ex-colleagues at ASTRO when I passed by on my way back… had tea there with them, yakked a bit, it’s nice to meet up with them again… but quite a lot have changed ever since…. haih…
Oh yeah, Angie, if you ever read this, Happy Birthday! Sorry that I didn’t knew (or else I’d wish you back then) until Jazz told me that today’s your birthday (Friday 13th… hmmm
)… No wonder lar u fiddling with the rose when I came by your cube… hinting to me eh? Sorry lar, me a bit blur
According to this piece of news from itv-f1.com here,
There’s a few moles in the Ferrari team that’s been trying to sell detailed informations about the F2002 car to other teams…. hmm… guess Ferrari’s been paying their junior engineers peanuts
Funny thing is that those detailed drawings and all that was to be sold at 660,000 UK pounds can fit into 1 CD!
I mean, cmon, that’s how detailed it is eh? I think for our MP4-18 car, the detailed drawings will need a few DVD+RW discs in order to fit them…
Ferrari Ferrari… this is the dawn of a new era, specifically, the McLaren era! F1 is no longer Ferrari One
Still haven’t gotten round watching Finding Nemo yet… it seems to be one of the movie to catch right now…
Guess I’ll have to go watch it in the cinema… Uncle Ho’s VCD biz is out cold now so cinema’s the only choice.
So I decided to stay back in this ghostly town called Timbuktu Nilai for this weekend…
Due to my recent form, I decided to continue developing on my Internet Programming project… I’ve just managed to complete the user registration, user login, and edit profile section rather easily… MySQL integration with ASP is a piece of cake!
First time at serious ASP programming, seems quite easy.. beginning to like it… but as usual, as with all Microsoft products, it’s a bloatware and the sluggish speed of its performance really drag down the feasiblity of me using it for my own development.
So I’ve got another report to finish by tomorrow… shouldn’t be a problem really… used to paperwork liao, especially back then working in ASTRO… tho I really hated the amount of paperwork I had to do as an Information Systems Assurance (Audit lar tu) Officer back then…
I dunno what’s gotten into me lately, until I become so hardworking all of the sudden, I figured it’s either global warming (and the current heatwave) is melting my heavy bum, EPL (English Premier League) withdrawal symptoms, or the recent slump in Ferrari’s performance and the rise again of McLaren and their new MP4-18 car that’s due out on the race real soon… but whatever it is, I just hope that these positive vibes around me doesn’t fade away or something…
Then my housemate told me today that there’s a new gym and swimming pool in Nilai 3 area that charges per entry… I’m kinda interested so decided to ask ET join me to check out that place, see if it’s any good…
I doubt I’ll see sauna and steam bath there… those were the perks back then when I was still studying in Subang and was a member of Fitness First gym… guess I’ll really go and do my workout again….
Hardworking or what?
Hmm lately noticed that I’ve been extra hardworking…
The other night, (the night before maths test) I was supposed to do maths exercise and revise up… but instead I actually read almost the entire textbook for Internet Programming (Javascript & VBscript & ASP)…
I guess I really wanted to learn ASP ahead of schedule so that I can start my Internet Programming project - VideoShack.com v2.0 (an upgrade over last sem’s project)… funny how I call it version 2 and an upgrade since I’m converting the backend coding from PHP -> ASP… that SHOULD BE A DOWNGRADE!
Oh well, ASP’s the requirement, but I ain’t getting away with the MySQL backend, so instead of using a simple Access DB
ukeface: , I’m gonna use MySQL again
And I already started the basic for this website, and ideas kept flowing in, better to write it down somewhere before I forget them…
Just woke up a while ago and right after I came online, my contact in Telekom told me that I’ve gotta wait 3 months to get those pizza box to be installed in my area in order to get StreamyX ADSL on my fibre-connected neighbourhood!
Sigh… I really can suffocate and die with the current 28.8kbps speed, u know…
