Glory glory Man United! smiley

Yeap, Manchester United is the newly-crowned 2003 FA Community Shield winner!

Man Utd beat ARSEnal 4-3 in penalties after a 1-1 deadlock in the 90 mins regulation play. As there was no extra-time, penalty kicks had to decide the winner and Man United’s new American goalkeeper Tim Howard managed to save 2 penalties while the new ARSEnal keeper Lehmann saved 1. Mikael Silvestre was named Man of the Match that was played at 2pm in the Cardiff Millennium Stadium.

In the first half, Silvestre headed home a flicked-on corner kick to a lead. However, ARSEnal responded 4 minutes later with a long range freekick by Henry. ARSEnal was then reduced to 10 men in the second half when Francis Jeffers was sent off for a kick on Phil Neville and ever since then, struggled to mount any incisive attacks.

van Bronkhorst and Robert Pires’ penalty kick was saved by Tim Howard while Ruud van Nistelrooy’s kick was saved by Lehmann. All in all, it was a good match, though it’s lacking some pace perhaps due to the lack of competitive match fitness and the scorching heat, with temperature rised to over 100 degrees Farenheit.

My studies...09 Aug 2003 3:47 pm

Yay… finally another semester behind me now… and what do I get out of it? A measly 2 weeks off…

Gonna make the best out of it… I think I’ll go apply for MyKad one day…. going to Melaka for a daytrip either on Wed or Thu…. and assemble up an AMD Duron box from the spare parts I have (donated from Wai Keen and Jasmine… thanks peeps! smiley )

Let’s see what else I’ll be able to cram in such a short break… ala don’t care… EPL season starting back! Yay!

But blardy hell, F1 season is going for a summer break just in time for my semester break… so no F1 for the coming 2 weeks.. sigh! smiley

Yeap, I’m way over 22 and today’s the first time at the casino in Genting… yeah yeah I know, I got another exam paper tomorrow and I ought to be studying for it… smiley

No big deal really, my dad asked me along so I tagged along lor… he’s into roulette but after seeing him play a few rounds, just don’t have the interest… prolly that’s why I never bothered to step into the casino alone in the first place anyway…

Then my mom showed me this game called “Mini Dice” and it was like betting on a particular dice face… it’s pretty slow game, nice to pass time but not for big timers really… coz the payout is relatively low unlike baccarat or roulette.

So I lost 100 bucks in that game, but it was okay… not my money anyway, and that’s pretty much my own limit if I were on my own… what fascinated me was once at the mini dice table, there’s this indian guy who came up, exchanged RM 1000 of cash chips (in 100 bucks denom.) and placed the entire stack on dice face 2… alas, it didn’t win - was a really stupid move… what was he thinking, double or nothing? Well, he indeed got off with nothing… smiley

It’s an experience looking at the walks of life that frequents the casino, today, a Friday afternoon, it was filled with senior citizens, uncles and aunties sitting their passing time, then there’s this bunch of Ah Bengs (read: dumbfucks) - u know the type, often dressed in black shirts like as tho they’re going for their father’s funeral who played aimlessly (without skill and luck)…

Not much pretty girls around this time, tho I saw a few supposedly PRC girls who’s hunting for “customers” - yeap, freelance prostitutes high up in Genting… I was like thinking - it’s only 2pm! Blardy hell! smiley
Definitely can’t mistake them, dressed to kill, sitting aimlessly in front of jackpot machines but not playing/staring at the screen…

So that pretty much summed up my day - lost 100 bucks and think later really gotta study a bit for tomorrow’s exam… smiley

My Life Stories07 Aug 2003 8:28 pm

I’m back to KL after the maths paper today… hehe, decided to escape back to civilization after much dreaded study period…. so I have another paper on Saturday, but that’s not a subject I’m worried about…

Oh yeah, Man Utd agreed to sell Juan Sebastian Veron to Chelsea… for a mere 15 million pounds (bought him 2 years back for 28 million pounds…)… guess Man Utd accountants are really good at work smiley

Oh well, since they’ve been doing pretty well in the US tour, let’s hope that they can beat ARSEnal during the FA Community Shield match this Sunday! smiley

Over and out - gotta fix up some stuff, blardy network switch’s AC adaptor failed on me and my sis will definitely bug me to get her back online (I’m connected direct to the router… muahahahha! smiley )

But the router can support simultaneous LAN Ethernet and USB client connection… let’s see if it would work after I download this USB driver smiley

ARGHHHHHHH! Tomorrow at 12pm is my MAT 251 exam… and honestly, I haven’t even studied at all…

It was nice to know that there’s 2 days break for me between the Java paper and this maths paper… but heck, I just don’t have the mood/push/whatever to make me study for it… perhaps it’s bcoz i hate maths so fucking much!

And I barely pass with 17 out of 40 (passing mark was 16) for the maths coursework… sigh….. see cheokyeen, you got higher coursemark than me finally… smiley

So here I am… ranting about how much I hate maths, as much as I hate this current maths lecturer! And not studying at all, FUCK MATHS! FUCK IT ALL!

I’d rather be enjoying Goo Goo Dolls’ mp3 right now…..

no… didn’t happen to me, but my next door neighbour..!

Kak Nor told me a while earlier that around 4am, her house was broken into, much due to her husband’s carelessness of leaving the house keys on the living room table, which is near the door… burglar came in, took a handphone, digital camera and some cash (amounting to RM 100 or so she said) before running off…

Her husband woke up bcoz of some noise and started chasing the burglar who was already on the way running out… so he didn’t manage to catch the burglar, claimed to be Malay or Indon…

Sort of freaked me and my housemates out especially a few months ago, another neighbour few houses beside mine was broken into, this Ah Pek stays alone and when he’s off to work, nobody in, that’s a bigger burglary, planned type… what happened last nite is of an amateur…

Called my godfather just now (he’s electrician) to ask him to get me one of those door alarm system so that I can fix it on over here… I really duwan to have to part with my 17″ LCD monitor.. teehee… smiley

Whoa… what a fantastic race! Incident-filled in the beginning, action-packed towards the end…

Tho I was pretty sad to see Kimi out of the race before even the first corner (pretty much I sum it caused by Ralf who forced Rubens too far to the left, in which Kimi was already there trying to take advantage of Ruben’s slow start) but I stayed on to watch, despite having sub-standard frozen pizza for dinner… there’s no Domino’s here in Nilai! smiley

Really good strategy by the McLaren team, in which sensibly stretched DC’s race from a 3-stopper to 2 stops unlike the Renaults and Ferrari in which the former suffered from rear tyre blisters (they were using the Michelin soft compared to DC’s hard tyres…) and the latter suffered a puncture or what Ron Dennis said it to be a tyre failure due to the track temperature and race conditions… and Schumi ended up 7th… muahahahah smiley

So Monty won the race, followed by DC and then Trulli and Alonso… the Toyota drivers were the next on the finishing list… Okay enuf of me talking about the race… I’ve got a Java exam paper tomorrow at 8am and haven’t even at all started studying!

I’ll leave you guys to comment on the race in the comment section… smiley

of using team orders (which has been banned by the FIA prior to this season) on the previous race, the British GP - Read here

What a sore loser that Schumi is… he’s got nothing better to do besides drinking beer and eating sausages issit?

Look at it last race, DC easily let Kimi pass coz both was on a different strategy clearly…. DC’s strategy changed after he lost the neck support (in which Ralf claimed that caused him his race… bleh… another sore Schumi) so it’s only logical that DC let Kimi pass… after all, besides fighting for positions in the World Championship, the team drivers ARE SUPPOSED to do the best they could to get more points on the Constructors Championship…

Haih… does it benefit the team as a whole if DC were to hold up Kimi in the last race? No… not like some Ferrari drivers, already on course to a 1-2 finish yet decided to call Rubens to move over to let Schumi pass… that is of no benefit to the team’s constructors standing, but more of a questionable team order…

What’s your say on this? Please, if you’re one of those sore-eyed Ferrari fans who’s got nothing better/constructive to contribute to this issue, then just keep your opinions to yourself… only proper comment/discussion is welcomed…

My Netperience01 Aug 2003 11:45 am

Out of desperation, I went out and got myself the tmnet prepaid starter pack so that I could get back on the Net and run some errands….

Stupid me didn’t bother to scratch the pack for the intial login/password/security id and assumed the sample initial details as the real one… took me a while to figure that out…. now I’m back online! smiley yay!

Now I’m wondering how come it’s kinda cheaper to access tmnet using the prepaid system than the usual account…. after all, there’s no annual fee with the prepaid system… only downside is we gotta pay in advanced… anyone can enlighten me on this one? smiley
