… any takers?

Thinking of selling my PDA because it’s underutilized and I need a laptop more than ever now…

So here it is:
- iPAQ 3870 (upped to WM2003/PPC2003 OS)
- original documentation (spare stylus, etc)
- original cradle, charger
- original car charger
- Krusell leather case (but the back adapter broke smiley )
- Dual PCMCIA sleeve (with battery built-in, and a CF to PCMCIA adapter)
- Targus Stowaway Keyboard (with the adapter to fit 3800 series)
- Toshiba 2GB PCMCIA HD
- 3com Megahertz 10-Base-T X-JACK PCMCIA NIC

Nice package eh? Add a wifi card and you’re good to go… smiley

How much? I don’t know, gimme a serious offer to consider… while you’re considering that, consider this, I’m a student now, I spent a fortune back then to buy all these and I really hope to get a decent offer for it (please try not to squeeze me dry smiley ).

If you’re interested, e-mail me at auyongtc@theuseless.com and provide your offer and contact details. Thank you.

Now that PayPal started accepting Malaysian users (I read it here), I’m thinking about starting a donation button on my site…

So before that, I’d like your assistance in helping me decide if I should put it up or not… I’ve updated the poll for this, would you donate (in monetary value of course) ?

I’m trying to pay on my own the remaining of my college fees for the final year… so maybe this donation will be towards my Education Fund smiley

Please vote yea… smiley

Thanks smiley

My studies...09 Jun 2004 9:18 pm

… began today in college. But this time around I didn’t join…

Finished class today at 3.30pm, had to attend a stupid briefing regarding the changes to my course at 4pm… stupid briefing indeed, didn’t tell us much that we don’t already know, and the things they told us (like the changes in lab fees), they could not tell us the justification for the changes… WTF??

Only thing I was interested in was the outcome of the course now that they’ve moved all the subjects from the validation course (Degree in Computer Systems and Networks) to the franchise course (Degree in Network Computing, by Coventry University, UK). Finally, they have the approval to graduate us with the Degree in Network Computing. So I’ll be getting that cert by this time next year I hope…

The whole time during the briefing, I was online chatting with ChrisHoo and fel over ICQ and MSN Messenger respectively… was using my iPAQ connected to tmnut hotspot wi-fi smiley

After the briefing was over, I loitered around, not know what to do since it was only like 4.40pm and the bus back to civilization only comes at 5.30pm… the guys went back to the hostel rooms to change and go swimming (moi can’t swim smiley ) so I went to the loo when they were gone…

So I was enjoying my little yellowish water graffiti action on the wall in a cubicle, when I heard an idiot next cubicle talking thru his phone asking for help… with that I realised that the debate competition begins today… coz he was asking his friends for points for his motion… stoopid fella really… he’s supposed to be brainstorming with his teammates but he was there spending precious time away asking his friend for help… geez…

That gave me an idea, why not I go sit in for one of the debate session, I was bored anyway… So, I did just that, walked towards the engineering block where they were supposed to meet…

Before that, back to why this semester I pulled out of the debate. Well, it’s an inter-school debate competition, organised by zhiling of the English Language Society (or some club like that). She came to me one day persuading me and my gang to join the debate since there were no representatives from my school (SOCIT - School of Computing and IT). But I told her I can’t make it for the debate since I won’t be around during next week (I’m going to Singapore, more on that next time) and we don’t really have a substitute that can take my place if I’m not around…

Too bad for us I guess, maybe next time, since AUP (American University Programme), SOLLA (School of Language and Liberal Arts), SOSAM (School of Science and Maths), SOBAL (School of Business and Law), SOEAT (School of Engineering and Technology) and SOHAI (School of Hentai, Anime and Illustrations…. hehe, okay, I made that up… if there’s a SOHAI school, Wilson Tsui would be the dean.. LOL!) all joined in the debate smiley

Back to my day, met up with zhiling and then yakked a bit as the debate only start at 5pm. I joined in the debate that she was supposed to chair, with the motion “Businesses Should Do Anything They Can To Make Profits” (yawn! smiley ). The reason I joined in that room is because it should be exciting, seeing one of the defending champion, Abigail was in that group.

But alas, it turned out to be a very badly one-sided affair. The other team just sucked so much that the first speaker practically read off the essay he wrote on the paper he was holding (took only 3 mins out of the allocated 7 mins), the supposedly second speaker freaked out just after the opposing team first speaker finished, so she got replaced by the substitute (which caused a controversy since the head judge wanted to become anal and wanted to disallow it) and that substitute was like a clock that you have wind up, coz she speaks for a while, then pauses and wait for her teammate to write points for her, and then she resumes speaking again. It just went downhill since the start of the debate… WTF!!!

I sneaked out of the room at 5.20pm to walk towards the bus stop to get home… then again, I would’ve walk out at that time even if I don’t have a bus to catch… came back and zhiling messaged me on ICQ:

+ z h i l i n g: guess you already know who won?

Teeheee smiley

… was the only thing I did today out of the house… realised late last night that today would be a holiday for the state of Negeri Sembilan - was announced at the closing ceremony of the Sukma Games last night. So didn’t have any class, I stayed home…

Cheok Yeen was really happy about it, as he got to watch the NBA Finals Game 1 between Lakers and Pistons… hehe, ended up not so happy I guess, as Pistons drew first blood… smiley

As for me, spent the day parking myself at drliew’s forum and then went out with graceshu to Midvalley Megamall…

Had coffee with her at The Coffee Bean outlet there and then shopped around a bit, she tried on a dress in MNG - it looked quite nice, though it wasn’t anything spectacular (I meant the dress, not her… *gulp*)… then I bought what I wanted to buy - a bottle of shampoo…

She left just before 8pm for an editorial meeting so I continued shopping alone… was walking around until I realised I need some socks… so I headed over to Jusco for it… browsed around the Braun Buffel wallets section too… was eyeing a wallet to replace my one soon…

And then realised I needed to get shoe wax for my HP leather shoes… so I went down to the supermarket section of Jusco to get it… nothing much really, wanted to get a bottle or 2 of Bordeux at the wine shop but realised didn’t have much of an occasion to celebrate it, so the idea got dropped eventually…

It’s been a long time since I shop alone - felt nice… maybe I should do that more often… normally I would just rush and get what I needed to get and go back - but this time I was more like strolling around nonchalantly and browsed at everything, including ties…

Speaking of which, I think I misplaced a very nice textured yellow tie that I really love… damn… I looked really good in that tie… smiley

… dated back 7 years ago, in 1997… I was in Form 4 that time… studying in Bukit Bintang Boys School… never would’ve thought I’d start dating at the age of 16…

She was from Damansara Utama Secondary School… She is a year older than me, was in Form 5 that time… got to know her thru a regular IRC chatroom (not a big chatroom like #mamak or #bangsar, but rather a small chatroom with only a handful of people)… got to know her online for some time, we were kinda flirting on IRC and then we had a long phone conversation one night, my first overnight phone conversation that lasted till 7am…

The next day, we spoke on the phone again and we decided to meet up for a movie… meeting up for the first time… and we’ve not seen each other’s picture before (digital camera and scanners were luxury items back then)…

Was supposed to go collect the movie tickets in TGV 1Utama and then meet her at the MPH (the old one) outlet there… she was late… really late… and that time we didn’t have mobile phones, so contacting her was not possible…

Could’ve been that she ffk’ed me? Could’ve been that she was in trouble? Those were the questions that kept on looping in my mind as I waited and waited… finally she showed up… whoa… she’s taller than me… not much, but she’s tall… then again, back then I would be like 168cm or so in height, she’s probably 170++… thinking back, feels like Eric and Donna in That 70’s Show sitcom… LoL smiley

She kept apologizing for being late, but it was okay for me, at least she was safe and arrived at last… so we proceeded to the movie… I think somewhere in the middle of the movie, I held her hand and she didn’t refuse… oh well, maybe she was cold and needed something to warm up her hands anyway… smiley

Can’t remember how our date ended, but it ended well, that’s when I started my first relationship… which meant a lot more lepaking at 1Utama after that…

I really wonder how is she doing and where is she now… Lost contact with her after a bitter end of the relationship… the last time I saw her was at Midvalley Megamall… it was just a glimpse from far… don’t think she saw me that time…

… to be continued …

… I noticed as I read thru a funny auction posting in eBay (yeah, I’m that bored today…). The auction’s listed here

In case it’s taken offline already, here’s an excerpt of it:
[printed in boldface and red color font]
Parents please let your children read this auction.

It was a glory day when my son received his Play Station 2. This beloved machine was his prize possession. He played, if not for hours at a time. When he would not take care of anything else, but he took care of this little treasure of his. Ground him, take away phone privileges………….anything but this PS2.

UP FOR AUCTION OR
FOR SALE DUE TO PUNISHMENT
PLAY STATION 2
PS2
USED
PLAYS GREAT! ASK MY SON
COMES WITH TWO CONTROLERS
SOME TYPE OF MEMORY CARD
NO GAMES
NO RESERVE

Here is the story: This weekend my 13 year old son decided to be destructive, deceptive and disobedient. I had a bugle I was selling on Ebay and while I was out he decided to “play” with it. Sunday morning when the auction was to end, He picked up the bugle and asked me if I knew it was broken. He handed me the bugle which he had “played” with and both solder joints were broken and since it was out of alignment the slide is now stiff.

Lets back up one night. That was the tip of the iceberg. Saturday night I send my son & his friend to the skating rink like the rest of the parents. I was to pick him up from the skating rink after it ended. Well he went home, while I was not there with his friend and they invited someone I do not know to the house while WE were not there. I get home about 11:30 PM and find the house is wrecked. Beer was missing. Confronted son and friends about beer…Yes they had drank the beer. -$6.00 Strike one!

Get up the next morning only the find the mysteriously broken bugle! -$51.00 Strike Two!

Here is the kicker…………..Husband finds the corkscrew in the floor and part of a cork in the floor. Ask son who is play his beloved Play Station 2 if he has any thing he would like to tell us?
Son- “No”
Dad- “Really?
Son- “No”
Dad- “what did you use this corkscrew for?”
Son- “To open the beer.”
Dad- “What about this cork?”
Son- “What cork?”
Dad- “This cork.”
Son “Oh, THAT cork. I drank some wine too.”
Dad- “Well I hope you enjoyed that because it cost $120.00 a bottle!”

LET THE YELLING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s right my 13 year old son drank a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne- 1995. PUT IT BACK IN THE FRIDGE WITH PART OF A CORK AND THE LITTLE METAL THING BACK ON TOP! -$120.00.

THAT BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE WAS A GIFT THAT WE HAVE BEEN SAVING FOR OVER A YEAR FOR THAT “SPECIAL” OCCASION.

SO I AM MINUS ABOUT $177 FOR THIS WEEKEND LITTLE ANTICS. NOT TO MENTION THE AGGRAVATION OF THE ARUGING, LYING AND DECEPTION. I AM NOT GOING TO PUT UP WITH THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR FROM A CHILD. EVEN A 6’3” 13 YEAR OR ANY ONE WHO DISRESPECTS ME & MY STUFF.

SO CHILDREN LISTEN UP DO NOT DISRESPECT YPUR PARENTS YOUR FRIENDS OR YOURSELF BECAUSE US PARENTS ARE SMARTER THAN YOU AND WE WILL FIND OUT ABOUT ANY AND ALL THINGS YOU TRY TO HIDE.

I AM SELLING THOS PRIZE possession TO RECOOP WHAT I LOST.

THIS IS NOT THE ACTUAL PICTURE BUT I WILL ADD ONE OF THE ACTUAL SYSTEM WHEN I GET A CHANCE TO TAKE A PICTURE.

HAPPY BIDDING!
—-
Lucky bastard that kid, never even got myself a bottle of champagne before… *grin*

Some beers - $6
A bugle - $51
A bottle of fine champagne - $120
Losing PS2 over all that fuss - PRICELESS
:D smiley smiley
